Rosa Maria Payá dedicates two awards to the Cuban political prisoners and the Cuban people

Rosa Maria Payá received the Common Sense Society Courage Award and the 2022 4Ward Miami Pa’Lante Award. She dedicated both awards to the Cuban people, and particularly to the Cuban political prisoners.

Rosa Maria Payá was honored with the Courage Award at the annual Common Sense Society Gala at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. The Courage Award is presented to individuals whose actions demonstrate strength facing opposition and champion the principles of liberty, prosperity, and beauty. “The dictatorship had never before been so vulnerable and so exposed; however, the Cuban people still need the support of the international community,” said Rosa Maria. The proceedings of the conference and the full gala was broadcasted on CSPAN.  The Common Sense Society (CSS) is an international network that promotes the principles of Liberty, Prosperity, and Beauty and the intermediary institutions that are indispensable to human flourishing and happiness. CSS is a longtime supporter of the Cuba Decide movement.

This past week, 4Ward Miami Pa’Lante Awards and Gala honored Rosa Maria Payá with one of four awards made to distinguished community champions. Other awardees included Leroy Jones, Judge Victoria Sigler, and Grecia Ordoñez. Rosa Maria called for collective action “in Miami, as a community to demand the liberation of the Cuban political prisoners and to bring about democratic change on the Island”.
